Oregon Public Broadcasting Music In-Studios

North Carolina-based sextet Annuals visited us in-studio 6-9-08. The band's sound (on 2006 full-length, Be He Me, and recent Wet Zoo EP) is marked by swirling textures and layers of instrumentation, but the band played a stripped-down set of songs at Mississippi Studios, pared to one drum set, and making use of an upright piano at the studio. The group talks about how they create songs in the studio, and being a band that's performed more or less together since members were in their mid-teens.

Who Is Public Radio Redux?

Public Radio Redux was started by two friends who bonded over the joys and pain of making radio. Jen Nathan and Erin Mishkin met at the Salt Institute of Documentary Studies and quickly bonded over a shared love of podcasts and bloody marys. Rather than boring their friends with another unrehearsed live re-enactment of their favorite radio shows, they started this blog.
